minispot
I have Retro 4.3 on a Mac OS9.2. Im trying to restore a backup set from an Exabyte Mammoth drive, but it says there is no snapshot. I can see the list of files in the session, but all attempts to retreive a snapshot fail. I'm not even sure what the snapshot is for. I've tried Recreate and Verify and still can't get a snapshot. Is there a secret to recreating a snapshot in 4.3? Thanks
Mayoff
A failed or stopped backup will not have a snapshot. You may need to do a restore>Search operation for the item you need.
minispot
OK - is 4.3 capable of recreating a snapshot or do I need to go to a newer version? Which of the new versions will read the 4.3 format and make a snapshot? Do I need to go to an OSX version? Thanks.
Mayoff
retrospect doesn't recreate snaphots. if you can't retrieve it, then you don't have it. catalogs containing snapshots can be rebuilt.
