Exchange Best Practices?

Recommended Posts

I've been using Retrospect for some time to backup my network's exchange server; however doing an 'all-in-one' backup set that encompasses the hard drives, "Exchange Server" "First Storage Group" and "Mailboxes" as one have made it so that the daily backup takes close to 24 hours (with ~100 users).

Is there a 'best practices' document for backing up exchange with retrospect? We have two primary goals we need accomplished:

1. Disaster recovery: Store bonks, server crashes, etc.

2. User Recovery: Being able to recover a users mailbox that is backed up to a snapshot, ala "We can restore to last night, or the night before".

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
