Richy_Boy
Hi; It has just been pointed out to me by a member of our staff that our User Restore system no longer seems to work. We don't use this system often as our staff are pretty careful with their files, however it did work fine before the 7.6 upgrade. I have reinstalled the UIR via the preferences area in Retrospect and have also tried it by the Add/Remove programs area. I have checked IIS and all seems to be well, but when I go to the site I get the following error: "Sorry, Retrospect has become busy and connot perform your restore at this time. Please try later." Any ideas what would cause this and how to put it right? Rich
Richy_Boy
Oh should have said.. I have a multiserver license with value add-on pack installed running on Windows XP Pro, 1GB ram and 2.4GHz Xeon CPU. Rich
Mayoff
UIR does not work in 7.6 due to a bug we are trying to fix. If you need the UIR feature, then you need to stick with 7.5 until the bug is fixed.
Lennart_T
What is UIR? (Sorry, I just had to ask)

Richy_Boy
I'm not rolling back to to 7.5 as I was hitting a God awful bug where missed grooms were forcing me to crash Retrospect which killed my config! As it happens, this bug is still there.. i.e. you can't cancel missed backups! Monday and Thursday have been cancelling for hours now!! Incidentially, I'm a little impressed the user restore function could slip through testing without being picked up! dmekalianappliedst.com
It's been 3 months, I wish they would resolve the UIR and 7.6 bug. I have a client that bought the UIR right when 7.6 was released (they were on 7.5 for a year or so) and wasn't too happy when it didn't work. Odd they didn't catch it in Q&A testing. Richy_Boy
Any news on a fix for this yet? Rich
Mayoff
The fix is planned for our next bug fix release which will be out before the end of the year.

gtallan
A beta bug fix has been posted to: http://forums.dantz.com/showpost.php?post/113381/ The above link is broken for me. Is there a new location (or even better a non-beta bug fix)? Graham

gtallan
Ah, thanks, this was our fault. On the correct version of Retrospect already, but somehow when we moved to a new server system a little while back, we never got .NET installed. That's what was breaking UIR for us (and it gave the same message as above). Graham
rlshew
Updating to v. 7.6.123 and restarting was insufficient. Afterwards, I also had to remove UIR (using Add and Remove Programs Control Panel) and re-install UIR from Retrospect's Preferences. We're good to go now. Glad I looked here. Thanks.
