DrBoar
Currently I am lax in the folder selection and backup the whole thing C:\Documents and Settings The upside is that I do not have to change anything with new users of the computer etc. The downside is that a lot of useless stuff is backed up even with .tmp files and Temp folders are filtered out. Weeding out useless files would both directly help with size problems of the backups and also make compression an option, with less files to compress The new stategy would be as follows: C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\ C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Desktop\ C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Favorites\ C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Qualcomm\Eudora C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and possibly also (for password and various settings) C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Cookies\ Any opinions about that stategy? Mayoff
I always recommend the backup of all files. The file you skip today will be the file you want to restore tomorrow.
