acrgroup
Hi there Just installed an IBM Half Height LTO 3 SAS drive. Having trouble getting Retrospect (v7.5 on Win 2k3 64 bit) to see the device. Inside “Storage Devicesâ€, I can see the tape drive on the “Environment†tab. However the device isn’t recognised on the “Status†tab. There are no problems in the Windows Device Manager. Tape drive is flashed with the latest firmware and the Windows driver is also the latest from IBM. Windows Backup works with the drive without a problem. In looking through the supported devices listings, I can see IBM LTO 3 and 4. But only LTO4 in the SAS configuration, others are SCSI. So I’m guessing a hardware compatibility issue. Could someone tell me if this is right, or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
Mayoff
I see that the IBM 3580 Ultrium 4 Tape Drive SAS is supported. I don't think we have tested the LTO 3 SAS from IBM.
acrgroup
Hi Robin Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I saw the IBM SAS LTO4 also on the list. So, just trying to work out what to do from here... Should I give up on Retrospect and SAS LTO3 combination or do I have a shot at seeing this product added to the list? Mayoff
We may add it later. I don't know for sure. You may want to call Tech Support for more direct help on this issue.
