I keep getting this error when trying to create a new backup set on our new Synology NAS (RAID 5). I'm able to create new sets on the local disk but not on network disks. Does anyone have any insight into this?

The NAS is running Linux (ext3) and the server is running 10.5.3, we also had this issue on 10.4.11 as well.

Can we assume that you are trying to create a new [color:purple]File[/color] Backup Set?

- If you create the File Backup Set on your local drive, then copy it (Foo and Foo.cat) to your desired network location, does it behave better? (you'll have to jiggle Retrospect to forget the original version and try and use the new one)

- What File Sharing Protocol is in use?

- Have you configured Retrospect to mount the remote volume, instead of mounting the remote volume as the current Finder user?
