d3m00n
Hi all, I am trying to do defragmentation using Perfect Disk software. I have a lot of *.rdb files which are excluded from defragmentation because of Access denied. Please note I checked the same files on two different servers. On one I have Retrospect server on the other not - it means that files was not open by Retrospect. I am sure that it is not related to Perfect Disk. Permissions are the same for files which are included and those which are excluded. Do you have any idea where can be a problem?
Mayoff
Retrospect does not access the files when the software is closed. These are just files on a disk, nothing special about them. Sounds like this defrag software just can not handle large files or doesn't like the permissions set on the file.
d3m00n
Hi Robin, I tried to do defragmentation using windows tool after it I had: Total fragmentation= 34 % I used PerfectDisk and here I see that a lot of *.rdb are excluded with Access denied comment. So I think that it is not issue with PD. Please note that many of the *.rdb files I able to defragment without any problems. I compared the permissions of the files which have been defragmented with the files which are excluded and there is no difference. Any other idea?
