willfurby
Windows Server 2003 SP2 Retrospect Multi Server 7.5.508 Driver and Hotfix v. 7.5.14.102 Starting just a few weeks ago I have begun seeing the following error when backing up a specific folder on a local drive. We have been backing up this folder for over a year without error. The backup script completes the C drive, clients (including an SQL database), then when it reaches a folder on the E drive I get this: Scanning incomplete, error -641 (chunk checksum didn't match) I looked up the error on EMC Knowledgebase and it stated that the catalog may be corrupt. I have repaired the catalog, ran a recycle backup, and created a new catalog (basically a new backup set). Still we are getting this error. Some assistance would be appreciated. Mayoff
Is this a local E drive or on a client computer? If this is a client, I would forget the client and add it again to Retrospect. Have you run any disk checks on the E drive?
willfurby
Drive E is a local drive. No I have not run any disk check. I will start one right now and update this topic when it is finished. Thanks.
MRIS
Man, that is one long chkdsk operation he's got going there...
willfurby
Sorry about the delay..... The chkdsk ran without error. As per another post, I have recreated the All Users\Retrospect folder. I am currently repairing my catalog file.
willfurby
Apparently recreating the All Users\Retrspect folder worked. I have repaired my catalog and completed a successful backup. Thanks.
