bbowler
It's entirely possible that I'm wrong on this or that my drive is doing hardware compression so software compression is turned off (behind the scenes). I just upgraded from 6.0 to 7.5. When I ran a backup in 6.0, writing to a CD, it would show, in addition to how many files and bytes it had backed up, the "current" compression ratio that it was getting. That was a very useful (at least to me) bit of information. 7.5 backing up to a DVD doesn't show that info any longer, at least that I can see. Did I miss an option somewhere (and yes, software compression is turned on) Thanks! Bruce
AndrewA
Unfortunately no 7.5 will no show the current compression ratio, it will give you an average on the compression in the log when it is done however.
bbowler
bumma... Is there a place where I can request that this feature be added back in to a future version of the software? (can someone explain why it was removed?)
AndrewA
You can to the Product Suggestions forum for Windows and there is a Feature Request thread, as for why it was removed I do not know.
