dbasham
Are there plans to add support for Windows Vista 64 bit in Retrospect? All the documentation I have read for the latest version indicates that there is no 64 bit Vista support. This is disappointing considering that I just purchased a NAS (actually it ships next week) and I need to backup my 64 bit Vista box. Are there any workarounds for Vista 64 like running the backup manager in 32 bit mode? Thanks, --Denny Edited March 30, 2008 by Guest
Mayoff
Yes it is planned. Try downloading the 7.5.512 beta version. It includes a bunch of changes toward 64 bit support.
chuwright
I too am interested in vista 64 support, where can I obtain this beta?
Mayoff
In the Beta section of the forum.
MRIS
So does this mean that 7.5.508 doesn't backup vista 64? I've just completed backing my vista 64 notebook up via this. Does this mean I've got a backup that cannot be restored? What are the issues?
Mayoff
If the backup worked, then that data is okay but I can't say that a DR of the system will work. You will need to wait for our next update for full 64 bit support.
Mayoff
Retrospect 7.6 was just released. This version includes Vista 64 bit support.
ttucker
That's great news, but the Systems Requirements on the EMC Retrospect product pages hasn't yet been updated to reflect this. I only found this thread when I Googled for 'retrospect vista 64 bit'.
