Retrospect 6.5 suddenly hanging saying "Closing..."

I've been using Retrospect without problems for several years. Suddenly after I came back from vacation, I am seeing backups to one (and so far only one) of my clients hanging in the "Closing ..." state. The log says the backup is complete, but I had to reboot to get Retrospect to start the next script:

Note that execution completed at 10:23:48AM, but the next execution didn't start till I rebooted around 1:16PM. It was sitting saying it was "Closing..." in the interim.

 

Does anybody have any ideas about what could cause this? Or how to fix it?
