Restoring error

Recommended Posts

Tried to restore some data that is not that old, AIT-2 format and here's what I got:

- 3/15/2005 11:17:16 AM: Restoring from TD Master Backup 5…

Completed: 392 files, 1.9 GB

Performance: 147.3 MB/minute

Duration: 00:28:20 (00:15:49 idle/loading/preparing)

None of the data was restored as I was adding a snapshot to the list.

I need to get this data back. Does anyone have any suggestions. Tape heads are clean, other resorations work without a problem. Tape is number three of ten.

Thanks

Hi

This isn't good. Bad backup set headers mean there is likely a problem with the data on tape or the tape itself.

You might want to try restoring pieces of that data rather than the whole chunk at once. You might be able to get around the damaged portions that way.

Thanks

Nate
