DanB13
I have a Titanium PB with a Matshita 8121 DVD-CD/RW drive. I'm running OS 9.2, and have Toast 5 installed. I've also installed Dantz extension updater, and am using Retrospect Express 4.1a. I know the device window of express says the disk has to be mounted and on the desktop for the drive to be recognized. When I insert a blank disk, I get a format window allowing me to choose Mac Standard HFS Format, iTunes, MP3, or reserve for Retrospect. The only way I can get Retrospect Express to recognize the drive is to prepare it with Mac Standard, but the process of preparing and buring the disk closes and locks it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help, Dan Borden
ZakB
The minimum version for this drive to work properly with Retrospect is version 5.0. With Retrospect 5.0, you will be able to properly “reserve your disks for Retrospect” and write to them without locking up your system. DanB13
Thanks for the reply. maybe I misunderstood, but I thought Dantz's web site indicated that if you have the proper updated extensions, it would work. Well, either way, I've ordered 5.0 and that should solved the problem. Thanks, Dan
