rjc
I had partitioned my iBook's drive into two HFS+ file systems (one for OS9.x and the other for OSX). I now want to collapse them back into one large partition. While connected in Firewire target mode to my G4 desktop running Express, can I back up the two partiions then restore as one? Mayoff
Retrospect 4.3 can not correctly back up and restore the OS X partition. You will lose all OS X permissions and any long file names will be lost. I would suggest backing up the documents on the OS X partition, reinstalling OS X after reformatting and then restore your data files. rjc
That's good info I needed to know (thanks). i was working under the premise that HFS+ is HFS+ and that was all that mattered and not the OS.
rjc
Hate to open this up again but what if I used Retrosepct Express v4.3 to backup my OS9 environment and Retrospect 5 beta my OSX environment (two different HFS+ partitions) - could I then restore these environments onto a reformatted disk under one partition?
