Duplicate copies many files already backed up in Vista

Using XP

Duplicate copies new or modified files correctly using XP.

Using Vista HP

Duplicate copies many files that were copied in the last duplicate run in Vista HP.

XP works great, vista doesn't.

Vista Example:

I have 1000 files that I want copied for the first time.

I open Retrospect.

I run the duplicate utility,

Duplicate copies all the files.

I create 1 new file using notepad.txt.

Now I have 1001 files in the source directory.

I start Duplicate, choose source and destination folders.

I choose the same source and destination drives

Duplicate runs a scan in the source directory, then the destination directory.

It dispays 1 file needing attention

I click start and the 1 file I just created seems to copy ok.

The problem is that it also copies many files that were already copied before and have not been changed or modified.

Instead of the program taking about 2 seconds and copying that one file, it starts what looks to be a directory search. Even though it still shows 1 file needing copying, the status line shows that it copying hundreds, if not thousands, of files.

The error code that shows is: Scanning incomplete, error -1123 (volume structure corrupt)

I tried to use the Tools, Repair catalog but get this message: "The selected disk does not contain any Backup Set data files, please select another disk."

In the My Documents there is a directly called Retrospect Catalog Files, but it's empty.

Vista HP

2 GB ram

2 External USB Drives (source and destination)

Retrospect Version:7.5.387

Driver Update: 7.5.13.100

Suggestions?

Thanks, Jeff
