miklar
Regarding the latest information on compatibility of Retrospect 7.5 with Windows Vista, it is clearly stated there is an issue with the 64 bit version of Vista, i.e. "Windows Vista x64: This release does not support backing up and restoring the 64 bit version of Windows Vista." However, the wording is somewhat confusing -- does it mean that Retrospect will not backup nor restore all files including system files? Or, will it backup and restore all files except Vista x64 system files? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Michael
Mayoff
Retrospect and Retrospect Client should not be installed on Vista 64 because they are not compatible.
miklar
Thanks Too bad, any idea if and when a compatible version will be made available? I can't wait too long, perhpas it is time to look for a backup program that will do the job. Any suggestions? Cheers, Michael
jthjth
I think we ought to be told if there is any commitment to produce a Vista 64 bit version. Lots of us need to make plans for the future.
Mayoff
Yes, we will add support. I don't have a release date to offer you. This is a priority for us
jthjth
Thanks - that is excellent news.
miklar
Yes, that is good news. Mayoff, can you give us any idea when we can expect it, i.e. in a month, or two or three? BTW, I did not want to come off sounding sarcastic, it is a feature I need and I really don't want to look at another program if I don't have to. miklar
Since no indication has been provided as to how long it will be before you expect to have a version that can be used with Vista x64, I am forced to look at a competing product.
