frano1
At present I compare various software products for automatic backups of about 20-30 personal computer, mainly running on WinXP (Pro). Besides the data backup I hope that one can also make use of the software to rebuild the computer installation when a hard disc crashes or some software corrupts the installation. The computers are office PC's and some data acquisition PC's without any server software. What I not really understand from the manual is if I need the extra module for "open file backup" in this scenario, since if I am right the registry files are always in use when a user is logged in and typically one needs these files to rebuild an installation without re-installation of all software packages that make changes in a registry (more than 99% off all software). I would appreciate any advice Sincerely Frank
Lennart_T
You need "Open File Backup" only when backing up computers (servers) that has running software all day and night. For only office workstations, the option is not needed.
