what does all files except cache files include/exclude?

Hi all,

 

I need to specifically exclude .tmp files from being backed up and see where to do so by editing the backup scripts; however, in doing so, what will I not be excluding that was not being backed up when I previously chose "all files except cache files". What specific exclusion will I have to add along with "exclude *.tmp" to achieve this?
