tonytjo
I encountered this warning on quite a few of mail boxes when I'm backing-up Exchanger Server 2003 with Rectrospect version 7.5.324 File "Sugo So\Sent Items\00000000c78bed087a00214ca5132d022edcbe3407005939faf49792374fb2a0bef6e668757e00000000430700001cd48b451ebb4349998ae32700c2bc930000000536720000": can't read, error -1101 (file/directory not found) Does anybody the reasons behind? Thanks in advance. Tony
TrevorSchmidt
Tony, We are encountering the exact same error every single day we back up the server. We generally get over 100 of these messages and we only have 60 or so mailboxes. I have noticed that if we get an error for a certain message/item in the mailbox today, we do not necessary get a repeat of the error for the same message/item tomorrow. I have tried enabling the option for this script, under Options -> Windows -> Outlook -> enable 'Force backup of Microsoft Outlook data'. But this has no effect. If anyone knows how to resolve these errors, that would be great! Thanks, Trevor
sdube
Just to let the Retrospect team know that we also encounter these errors. I've reported them a while ago and still no clue as to what causes this. They suggested "fixing" exchange as this may cause the problem. Did that and it had no effect. I suspect that maybe the antivirus is playing a part in this as it is actively monitoring our exchange.
buffaloits
Stecy, what was the "fix" that the Retrospect team suggested? Has anyone else heard any information about this problem? I have begun encountering these problems recently on our Retrospect software. Thanks.
AmyJ
The most likely cause is a corrupt message in the mailbox folder noted in the error (Sent Items, Inbox, etc.). Try moving half the mail from that folder to a new folder and backup the new folder. If the problem follows the mail to the new folder split it in half and perform backups to find the problem email. tonytjo
Thanks a lot to everybody!! But does anybody know how to convert the "00000000c78bed087a00214cXXXX" to meaningful string? So that we could check if any mail is backed-up or not backed-up? Tony
sdube
They suggested running Exchange utilities to fix the database of any errors. I don't remember the web page with the information but a search of the forums should bring you the relevent topic.
