chris jones
Hi, I am relatively new to Retrospect. I am running SBS Premium 7.5.370 on SBS 2003, running Exchange 6.5, and have recently been experienceing problems backing up the Exchange Server. I'm not sure if this is normal, but when selecting the Exchange Server as a backup source, it comprises two subvolumes: 'First Storage Group' and 'SRS Storage'. When I try and backup this source, 'First Storage Group' seems to be backed up succesfully, but when it gets to 'SRS Storage', I get the following error: - 27/02/2007 08:42:53: Copying SRS Storage Backup type: Full MapError: unknown Windows error -1,029 Trouble reading files, error -1004 (Database Backup/Restore error) 27/02/2007 08:45:22: Execution incomplete Remaining: 2 files, zero KB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:02:29 Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this? AmyJ
Is SRS actively connected to an Exchange 5.5 server? If SRS is enabled and running, yet not actually connected to Exchange 5.5 errors would be expected.
chris jones
I have no idea. How do I check this?
AmyJ
Hi Chris - SRS is used to connect Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2003. If you only have one Exchange Server then SRS is not needed. The following link will show you how to remove it: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/d91c2065-99af-4056-9fa6-00dd8ac05374.aspx If you are unfamiliar with SRS - what it does or if you need it - you should consult with an expert prior to making any changes to your system. chris jones
AmyJ, thanks for your help. I looked into SRS, realised that I didn't need it, and stopped it. Everything is working fine now. Chris
