Custom Disaster Recovery?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I am trying to make a custom Disaster Recovery CD. The one included with my purchase

(Retrospect Desktop) works just fine, but I'd like to add my favorite disk/system utilities and tech notes. I can create the custom disk just fine, but there results one annoyance.

If I start Retrospect from the custom Disaster Recovery CD, it complains about being unable to create the retro.config file on the locked volume (the CD), and gives me a choice to open existing, create new, or quit. Obviously, this does not happen when starting up from the supplied Disaster Recovery CD.

A proper retro.config file *exists* in the proper place on the CD. It was taken from the system folder on my startup drive.

Questions:

1-Is this an anti-piracy feature?

2-If not, can you discuss how to create a functioning startup CD without a nag about retro.config file?

Thanks,
