Angelo990
Hello All: I have a windows server that Ive been backing up using retrospect. I installed another server & got another retrospect license. However, I can't use the media (DLT tapes) used with previous system with the new system? They are both retrospect for windows. Is there a way to reuse tapes from another system on a new one? DLT pates are expensive. Many Thanks!
lv2ski
Is it the same tape drive? Or same tapes, different tape drive? If it's the same tape drive - then I'd look at the SCSI Card, as that is the other item that is different.....try the other SCSI card from the old system in this new system. Does that fix it? Angelo990
iT's two different systems more or less (dell series)with DLT devices.
lv2ski
Maybe the heads of the tape drives are in different alignment so they won't reach each other's tapes.
Angelo990
They are the same DLT tape brand & same DL:T device just different machine It looks like even if it's the same retrospect version, it won't use tape from another machne. Thanks to all!
