dhwagner
Yesterday, I was backing up my computer, and I noticed that lot of files that were obviously all cache files, were being backed up. The file names all ended in "d01", and a Finder search revealed that they were all in (home) -> Library -> Application Support -> Firefox -> default.bjp -> Cache The "All except Cache Files" selector has an item to exclude "enclosing folder path name contains Firebird" and "enclosing folder name = Cache". To avoid backing up Firefox cache files, one needs to change "Firebird" to "Firefox", or add a similar item with Firebird changed to Firefox. My Firefox browser cache is about 75 MB on one machine, and 49 MB on another, so this is a non-trivial amount of useless stuff to back up.
CallMeDave
Wasn't "Firebird" the name of this software in an earlier stage of the project? There might even be more browsers released, even after Retrospect 6.0 has been written; Dantz can't see into the future! Dave
dhwagner
Well, yeah, but I thought this was worth pointing out for the benefit of Retrospect users. It wasn't meant as a complaint. I do hope the next update/upgrade reflects the change, though. David
