comspec
Hello - New to the forum & product I have Server 2012R2 Retrospect 10.5.0.110 I am getting errors during each backup similar to the following: File "C:\Windows]System32\winevt\logs\DFS Replication.evtx"; didn't compare I'm also getting "different creation date/time" errors If someone could help by pointing me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Lennart_T
File "C:\Windows]System32\winevt\logs\DFS Replication.evtx"; didn't compare It is a log file. It has changed between the time it was backed up and the time it was compared. It is normal for log files to change at any time. Not to worry. comspec
Thanks. How about the "different creation time/date" errors?
Lennart_T
Probably a temporary file that has been deleted and recreated in the same time period. (The one I mentioned above). For more definitive answer, please post excerpt from the log.
comspec
How about some of these errors? How might I correct these? Thanks in advance. Lennart_T
The first errors can be corrected by either: 1) Shut down the MS SQL database prior to backup. 2) Buy the Microsoft SQL Server Agent add-on. The last error is due to insufficient permissions. The Retrospect user must be a member of certain groups. http://www.retrospect.com/au/documentation/user_guide/win/getting_started#50458635_82336
Scillonian
Lennart's answer is more likely correct (I have no experience with Microsoft SQL Server). Do you have the 'Open File Backup' add-on? Without this add-on Retrospect cannot backup files that are actively open in another application – in this case presumably Microsoft SQL Server. (I think this add-on will also allow Retrospect to access the files in the 'F:\System Volume Information' folder.)
