robmaas
I can't add a new media member (LTO tape) to a new media set. I get "an error occurred'. I also can't erase the tape. I want to re-use the tape as it belongs to another media set, but I can't find to which media set is belongs. Also Retrospect doesn't say so. How can I re-use the tape? H.Pralow
Have you tried to restart the Retro Engine ?
Lennart_T
The tape has the same name as the media set (preceded with the member number and a dash). For instance the first tape in the media set "MyTapes" would be named "1-MyTapes". You should forget the media set before trying to reuse the tape. robmaas
The tape says (Empty)
twickland
The tape says (Empty) That would indicate that the last time the tape drive communicated to Retrospect, it reported that the drive was empty (no tape inserted). Turning the tape drive off and back on, and/or stopping/restarting the Retrospect engine, will often reestablish communication between Retrospect and the tape drive. If those fail, you may need to reboot the backup computer.
