Does Retrospect 10.5 work with Mac OS X Yosemite?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is anyone running Retrospect 10.5 and OS X Yosemite 10.10, and does it work properly, or are there problems?

I backup my personal data to a 4TB NAS drive, using OS X 10.9.5 at the moment, but I'm eager to update to the new OS.

This is just so I can save myself some unwanted hassle, if R10.5 is somewhat flakey.

I'll upgrade Retrospect otherwise, before, going to OS 10.10.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hi Michael,

Yes, it seems to be working OK so far after a couple of weeks on Yosemite. My biggest problem with Yosemite is that I was using an eSata PCIe card in my Mac Pro that didn't have Yosemite drivers written for it yet, so my 2 external backup drives wouldn't mount. I bought a different brand eSata card and now all is well...

I'm considering upgrading to v11 for any speed improvements (?), just looking through the forums to see if there's been any Yosemite problems with v11.

Cheers,

Jason.

We do not recommend using 10.5 with Yosemite, unless you disable instant scan before backup. 11.5 is the best version to use.

Thanks for your answers. So the verdict is; it works but be prepared for some problems, if any. I'll probably buy 11.5 anyhow, but will use 10.5 until I've got v11.x fully working.
