joabjim
I am using Retrospect Professional v. 7.6.123, Win 7 64 bit OS, and backing up on External HD, so far everything is OK. I have 30 DD3 DAT tape backups I made with a LaCie SCSI unit, which I stopped using, when I bought a Laptop, Win 7 64 that does not support SCSI. Recently I got a HP storageworks DAT 72 USB and I want to restore some old files. I read this unit can read and write DD3 DAT tapes. My problem is that Retrospect does not recognize this new device (Please see attached Pics.), I am wondering if the problem might be the Win 7 OS or Retrospect Software or both. Please Help. Thanks. Daniels
Have you restarted Retrospect since attaching the device as Retrospect only detects devices when it starts up?
dan.jordan
Per this link it appears to be qualified for Retrospect use. You might look for a similar doc regarding windows 7.
Mayoff
The Device ID for the device is not being displayed correctly by the hardware. Does the Windows Device Manager show a valid drive model number? One major concern is that your version of Retrospect is not supported on Windows 7.
