Trouble reading files, error -1010 ( API request bad) - Keeps crashing

Recommended Posts

We have a problem with Retrospect.

It keeps crashing half way through a backup.

Retrospect logs just say:

-    8/22/2013 11:11:51 AM: Copying AdminMailbox
8/22/2013 11:12:20 AM: Execution stopped by operator
        Remaining: 102 files, zero KB
        Completed: 0 files, zero KB
        Performance: 0.0 MB/minute
        Duration: 00:00:29 (00:00:19 idle/loading/preparing)

Event Viewer gives the following information:

The description for Event ID 1 from source Retrospect cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Trouble reading files, error -1010 ( API request bad)

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file

We run multiply scripts and tapes, it happens on every tape and script. We have uninstalled and re-installed retrospect which didn't help. Retrospect appears to backup about 25% of mailboxes before this happens and just quites. When we look in the logs to see where it got to there is no information just what i posted above.

Please help, we are unable to backup any of our Exchange mailboxes. We have 8.2 installed on the exchange server with Exchange agent and we backup another Exchange server via a client.

this had been working with no problems, only recently started to happen and no longer able to complete a backup.
