jclark14
Set some Activity Threads, to 10 say, quit the Console, restart the Console, Activity Threads returns to ( default ) = 1. Or just restart the computer, same outcome. Is this the correct behavior? [ you can guess that I would prefer that Activity Threads #'s should 'stick' through restarts of Console or computer ] Otherwise, it's a pretty non-useful feature.... ( btw - I *do* like it while it is working! )
David W Lee
This works for me on 10.1.0 (221). What version of Console are you using?
jclark14
This works for me on 10.1.0 (221). What version of Console are you using? 10.1.0 (221). Thanks! This behavior on 2 installations of same version. I'm glad to hear it works - now I can justify the time to chase it down.
David W Lee
Are your Console installations each managing multiple Servers of same or different versions? Are they co-existing with older Console version(s) on the same computer?
kswisher
I to am seeing the threads preference re-set to 1 after a re-start of the server machine. Version 10.1.0 (221) desktop version, both the engine and GUI running on the same machine.
David W Lee
We have reproduced this in some environments and are investigating now.
jclark14
Does not retain setting in 2 different environments: 1) Mac Pro boot from SSD [ 10.8.3 ], catalogs kept here, user space on internal HD [10.6.8 ]<--- this *should* make no difference(?) Go ahead, make a liar outta me.. Retrospect running on SSD. 2) Mac Pro std config ( everything running on boot disk ) 10.6.8.
Sakumbi
Was this ever resolved? I'm having the same problem. The number of active threads is reset back to the default (1) after every system reboot. This behavior has persisted through a few Retrospect updates, and OS X updates (Maverics to El Capitan.) I'm currently running Retrospect 12.5.0 (111) and OS X 10.11.
jclark14
Yes, for me it is resolved - that is, the number of activity threads is sticky through restarts of the Retro application ( with no hardware reboots in between ). It will however 'forget' the threads if a machine reboot is initiated. I am using Retro Desktop, but if your using the Server version of Retro, well, then it should ( I don't own it, so I don't know this as fact ) remember threads through machine reboots. I just remember to invoke a couple of threads w/ I start the Console [ not always though! ]... It's not onerous, so I just do it.... I'm on 10.11.1, Retro 12.5.0(111)
