bleary
Downloaded what is supposed to be the new client from the Retrospect website. After many attempts and restarts and refreshes, trying to rune "update" on the clients using the .rcu seemed to have no effect. After running the installer on one client locally, it is finally showing up with the new version number.
prl
Likewise, when I did the Update from the console, the version number reported by Refresh on the console and in the Client System Preferences pane remained the same. I had to re-install the client to update it.

prl
At the time that I updated, Mayoff hadn't posted that 10.1.187 should be uninstalled before installing 10.1.221, so I hadn't done that. I had some other problems, like the Engine not being restarted properly, too. Perhaps the client update problem I had was because I didn't install 10.1.221 in the recommended way. David W Lee
I have three clients so far that will not update from console. Two are windows server 2008, one is windows server 2003. Please open a Support ticket and provide C:\ProgramData\Retrospect Client\retroclient.log as well as the Windows' event log (.evtx) files. bleary
I think I must have missed that bit about uninstalling the previous version. More than likely, since Retrospect was anxious to auto-install as soon as I launched it. Did that apply just to the clients, or the Console and Engine as well? bleary
actually, now that I think about it, I think I did go back and uninstall and re-install again. But, I'm going to try to do it again just in case.
