mattd42
I'm using Retrospect v6.1.230 with a Quantom 800 DLT drive. When I try to restore my data from the tape drive I get an Error 109 (unexpected filemark or FTP end of file) If you have any info or work arounds that would be great. I thought I was home free when I found the old snapshot files... but no. My Computer: 867 MHz PowerPC G4 2 MB L3 cache 1.5 GB SDRAM OSX 10.4.11 ATTO ExpressPCI UL3D SCSI card ROM version 1.6.3f1 Thanks, Matt
twickland
When I try to restore my data from the tape drive I get an Error 109 (unexpected filemark or FTP end of file). That's a strange error. Exactly when in the restore process does it occur?
mattd42
It happens after the tape is rewound but before any data is retrieved. Thanks for helping with this. Matt

twickland
It looks like it may be a problem with that tape member, the tape drive or some incompatibility between the drive and the tape. Is this tape drive the same one that originally wrote to the tape? I'm assuming that when you insert the tape, the drive can read the header and correctly display the name of the tape member. How many files are you trying to restore? If the files span more than one tape member, what happens if you tell Retrospect that the first member is missing? Is Retrospect able to retrieve data from the subsequent member?
mattd42
Yes it is the the original Quantum 8000. Yes it can read the header and display the name. It's a one tape archive so the last thing won't work. Could it be a software update that I need? I'm using Retrospect v6.1.230.
twickland
You should make sure that you have installed the latest Retrospect Driver Update (RDU), which is 6.1.16.100, in the Retrospect app folder. Do you have another tape from a different backup set that you can try in the drive?
