Running 10.0.1; Client Prefs shows 9.0.2

Recommended Posts

I upgraded to 10.0.1 and then checked the system prefs. The Retrospect pref correctly shows 10.0.1, but the client pref shows 9.0.2.

I'm using Retrospect only to backup my computer, so there is no client installed on my machine. Is that why the client pref shows the wrong version? Does this matter?

I wouldn't think it would matter. The client is only for other computers on the network like a laptop connected to the network via WIFI. It seems the biggest change in V10 is the client software.

If you stop the "Retrospect" Pref and restart it -- then open the console -- *then* look at the log -- does the log say you are still running 9.0.2? If so, the upgrade didn't work (as you may have updated the console, but not the engine...)

If you have the "Retrospect Client" pref -- then you installed the client for some reason and could uninstall that if you are only backing up your computer with the software on your computer.

I followed your directions, and the log states that I am running 10.0.1. I think I'll leave the client alone. Everything is working OK.

Thanks
