jbehring 3 Report post Posted December 12, 2012 I am trying to get Retrospect setup to work with my Tandberg Storageloader LTO-5. It is a compatible product, but the auto-loader show up under storage devices and the drive itself doesn't. The drive is visible under the environment tab. Any suggestions on this.

pupton 2 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Hi J Did you ever get anywhere with this? I have the same issue with a Tandberg LTO5 using 7.6. It is supposed to be supported. Regards Paul
Daniels 15 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Have you tried restarting the engine with library powered up? Sometimes if the library is offline when Retrospect launches Retrospect will not detect it correctly. The following steps should fix the issue. It has been a while since I used 7.6 so these steps might be slightly wrong. Here are some steps to try: 1. Stop all Retrospect processes. 2. Shut down and restart the tape library. 3. Let the tape library go through its start up procedure. 4. Start all Retrospect processes. 5. Let Retrospect re-scan the tape library and hopefully everything will appear correctly. pupton 2 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Hi Daniel Thanks for the prompt reply. Still stumped. No luck with your suggestion. What do you suggest? Best Paul
pupton 2 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Hi Daniel Could you please look at the details of my post dated today, 25th July 2013? Full details listed. Thank you Paul
Daniels 15 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 I am unfamiliar with that tape library however you might want to check the SCSI ids of the devices. Other than that there is not much else I can suggest except to contact Retrospect support. I would also make sure your Retrospect has the latest updates. pupton 2 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Hi Daniel The drive is SAS. All software up to date. Best Paul
Daniels 15 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 The only thing I can suggest is to check serial and SCSI connections and port to make sure they are working correctly as it appears Retrospect is only picking up one device on the serial port.
pupton 2 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Thanks Daniel The OS (Win 2003) can see the SAS drive fine. Best Paul
