PitterPat
I see that RS is backing up files with looong names in the form of "{long string}{long string}" and seems to spend an inordinate amount of time on each. I've searched my system for such files and can't find any. What are these and where can I find them? This is on Win7. Thanks
PitterPat
Anyone?
Cygnis
They are stored in the hidden "System Volume Information" folder at the root of your drive(s). I think they hold the 'restore points' created by the "System Restore" feature of Windows. Does anyone know if they can be safely excluded from backups? Mike.Turner
I always exclude System Volume Information, without any problems.

Thanks for the feedback. If that's what they are, I would think it would be OK to exclude them. I've now done exactly that. Thanks
