New Forum for Retrospect 10?

Recommended Posts

Just my .02, but I believe that Robin should create a new forum for "Retrospect 10 for Macintosh" instead of changing the name of this forum to "or higher." As time goes on, there will be a subset of the user community who will have gone to Retro 10 and some who will stay on Retro 9, and having a separate forum for Retro 10 will reduce confusion.

agree completely.

past history shows that v10 issues will get reported and questions asked in this forum. then eventually/inevitably a separate retro10 forum will be opened up and past inputs/questions will be orphaned in the old forum. i hate to complain (not really :) ) but dantz/emc/roxio/retrospect has a bad track record in this regard. with no user manual for for v9 or v10, i think retrospect inc needs to foster and respect user-driven forums like this. honestly, there's no way a normal user can muddle through all the issues, warts, complexities, bugs, performance problems, etc. associated with retrospect w/o this forum.

It is good to know you folk find the forum valuable. We talked about adding a new "Retrospect 10" forum but decided that a similar problem to David's would occur: questions and issues that still applied to v10 would be lost in the v9 forum, or we would have to duplicate them. The Windows forum is organized by Retrospect editions, which obviates the version problem but the Mac editions aren't so disparate. It probably makes more sense to separate these out by features but that is a fair bit of work and will need to happen over time.

Hope that seems sensible, we would love to hear more suggestions about better ways to structure the forums to make things easier to find.
