Can I run Retrospect Professional in safe mode?

Recommended Posts

A few days ago I posted a problem regarding very slow backups to an external hard drive. I haven't received an answer from Mr. Mayoff.

Needing to backup without taking 7 hours to do it (it was taking half that time up until a couple of weeks ago) I'm wondering if a Windows update or an updated program, etc. could be the culprit. My question is: can I use Retrospect in Safe Mode, which would eliminate startups, certain Windows files and more.

Thanks.

You might try using msconfig.exe to disable startup items, and then systematically renable them in groups, "binary search style."
