Can I run Retrospect Professional in safe mode?

A few days ago I posted a problem regarding very slow backups to an external hard drive. I haven't received an answer from Mr. Mayoff.

Needing to backup without taking 7 hours to do it (it was taking half that time up until a couple of weeks ago) I'm wondering if a Windows update or an updated program, etc. could be the culprit. My question is: can I use Retrospect in Safe Mode, which would eliminate startups, certain Windows files and more.

Thanks.
