oslomike
I know this is possible, but I don't know if I can do it after the restore is already done? I can see that most of the folder dates are all new. Anyone have any tips? Thanks! Mike
Lennart_T
Using the default restore and backup options, Retrospect should not backup the files again. Have you actually tried? Note that the folder modified date isn't used for determine if a file should be backed up (again).
oslomike
Hi Lennart, No, I haven't tried. The restore is over a Terabyte, so I wanted to investigate before I resume the proactive script that backs up that drive. Is there a setting I need to change in my script to have it ignore the dates? Or is the program smart enough to know? BTW, I am posting this in the wrong forum. I am using v8.2, not v9. Sorry. Thanks Mike
Lennart_T
As I wrote: Retrospect doesn't care about the dates on the folders. Are the dates on the files correct? Yes, Retrospect is smart enough to know. (Unless you mess around with the settings that disable that functionality.) The version doesn't matter. I've used many versions since 3.0 and they are all smart enough to know.
