teherder
I have two backup sets, labeled K and L. I use one set every other week week to back up my three computers. I would like to save some space in my backup sets by using the synthetic backup feature in Retrospect 7.7 for Windows. The user guide says (on page 93): "Retrospect creates synthetic fulls when transferring Snapshots to: - A new Backup Set - An existing Backup Set when the 'Match source Catalog File to destination Catalog File' option is turned off" Can I use the same backup set as a destination for the synthetic backup? I would like to perform a synthetic backup of K to backup set K, and of L to backup set L, thereby collapsing all the prior backup sessions into a new "full" backup. However, when I go to select the "Destination Backup Set," Retrospect will not allow me to select the same backup set as the one from which I am transferring the snapshots.
