bcarter27
We desparately need the ability to restore to different hardware during a disaster recovery. ntbackup can do this by NOT restoring certain files and merging certain hardware related reg keys. Retrospect needs this feature as the hardware turnover at small businesses is getting shorter and shorter. Also, most competing products are implementing this. It takes forever to reload apps & settings following a clean install of XP. HELP!
bilbus
i use acronis with universal restore option for this i can restore to any computer, vm, or any other dissimilor hardware. If you use a scsi or raid card you may need to include the driver during restore. I use Acronis to make all my images. I no longer have an image for each PC type/model, i just have one per department (custimised programs and settings) so i have 6 images for my whole network.
