Chevelle Posted April 14, 2011 Report Share Posted April 14, 2011 I am looking to restore my exchange 2003 server to a different server. Because I need to recover a mailbox. We are not currently backing up mailboxes only a full backup. When I attempt a restore of the database to the spare server I get a message stating something like "Really restore the database to a database named First Storage Group on mail1?" The database will be restored to the recovery database, if that database has been created. If not recovery database has been found, this will overwrite any existing database named First Storage Group on mail1? Now mail1 is my backend exchange server that is live. I am trying to restore to a different server that is in the same forest/domain/Admin Group. Will it restore the database to the test server if I select it within Retrospect, or will it overwrite my live data on mail1? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
