edwardo
Does Retrospect have the ability to detect and notify me if it finds a file/folder/path name that is longer than 256 characters? I've been strugling to find a program that will alert me to such things. Surprisingly, I came across a freeware utility called Long Filename Finder, but that only takes into account the filename lenght itself and not the folder + filename equation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
waltr
hi ed, i believe you'll get a "-1128" error in your backup (or restore) if the path is too long.... http://kb.dantz.com/display/2/_index1.asp?tab=opt2&r=0.1241353 i don't think Retrospect will tell you about file/folder/path names without doing a backup, or at least a scan (or "Preview" in the Immediate Backup section). if you are looking for something to survey your computers on a regular basis, you should take a look at Perl or Python and read up on "regular expressions".
