Exchange Server Hanging when Being backed up

I'm running Retrospect Multi Server 6.5 with the Exchange Server Agent. When the backup machine attempts to backup the mailbox store on the Exchange Server machine, it hard-hangs the Exchange Server. No error messages are logged to the Exchange Server, and the Exchange Server is otherwise working properly.

 

Any ideas what might be happening/what I can do to fix it? (Other than not back up my Exchange server?)
