SimonR
Running OS X 10.1.4 server with latest Retrospect Server for OS X with a Sony AIT-2 Tape Drive (OEM'd by La Cie) with ATTO Tech UL3S adapter. Nothing else on the bus have tried with and without a terminator Retrospect sees the Tape drive but locks up when writing to the Tape Drive, I have reloaded the Retrospect software, changed cables, sometimes a MB or two is written sometimes only 60K . But after force quitting Retrospect in OS X the server must be rebooted for Retrospect to see the tape drive again
AlbertEverett
I've got a post re UL3S/AIT-II, wondering how the combination will work. Sounds like this one is iffy also. I'll be curious to see how your situation works out.
SimonR
Fixed the problem and am now successfully backing up. I switched SCSI cards again. I used a INITIO 9100UW card for Mac, I patched it with their OS X firmware and left the card at it's default settings, automatic termination, no external terminator on the tape drive, I erased the tapes I had tried to use before just in case. I successfully backed up over 6 gigabytes last night with no errors. Cheers Simon
