Atto UL2D and Sony SDX-500C

Recommended Posts

I've tried using my Sony SDX-500C on two different configurations that are both said to be compatible with Retrospect 5. Every time I go to back up. It starts out by finding all the files and directories properly, and starts to write to the tape. It only gets like the first 900k or 700k of data. The tape drive continues to read or write... I'm not sure, but it signals that it is busy. Retrospect hasn't crashed, but it isn't writting any data. I've connected the drive directly from the Atto UL2D to the Sony SDX-500C with a terminator on the other end of the drive. I'm very sure the SCSI is setup correctly because if I connect this to my RAID array it works fine. I'd appreciate any support I can get on this issue.

The first configuration:

Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White)

The Second:

SCSI Troubleshooting sounds like it should be done.

Try new tapes.

Clean Tape Drive.

Try new Terminator.

Try new cable.

Try the device on another computer(which you did I believe and it worked?)

Do you have the latest drivers for your SCSI card?

www.dantz.com/hardware has a list of supported SCSI Adaptors.....

Let us know!

Melissa
