Guest
Can anyone tell me why this has suddenly appeared? I've turned off every "operation" that I can think of; I've rebooted. I'm stuck! Thanks, ij
natew
Hi Can you tell us the OS version, Retrospect version, backup device etc? Please? You aren't giving us much to work with. Nate
Guest
Thanks, Nate, for your lightning response. OS: Windows XP (SP2); Dantz 7; backing up onto iomega HDD. The combo has worked successfully since mid-autumn, most recently on 17 Dec; I'm mystified by the sudden change. Give my regards to Nagano! ij
natew
Hi The current version of Retrospect is version 7.0.326. Update if you haven't already. What happens if you run a test backup of another disk? Thanks Nate
Guest
Hi, Nate, Turns out I do have 7.0.326 (phew). E drive backs up with no problem; of course, C is where everything is... I appreciate your continuing help.
natew
Hi This is very strange. If possible you might want to try clean preferences in Retrospect and see how that goes. To do this rename the c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\Retrospect folder and reboot the machine. You will have to set up your scripts again but you can still use your existing backup sets. Thanks nate
Guest
Well, Nate, I thought that it was pretty strange, too. I will try the solution that you propose and report back to you anon. Many thanks.
Guest
It worked, Nate! You're a genius! Thank you very much. (Is it indiscreet to ask why it worked?)
