Error -1017 (insufficient permissions)

Hello there,

 

 

 

We've recently upgraded our PDC & Exchange servers; both Windows & Exchange are version 2003 standard.

 

 

 

While trying to do a backup of our mail server (The user selected in Retrospect's preferences is the domain admin, if that matters), I receive the following error. The mailboxes backup and verify fine, as does the Information Store. "SMC" is our domain name, but as far as I know, there aren't any folders called "SMC" on that server, there are a few files used by IIS for a local SSL certificate, but I can't see how they would have permission issues?

I used to have this running with Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000 Adv. Server, and to do that I had a RBU account setup, but I am unsure if it's neccessary to do that for win2k3/exc2k3.

 

 

 

Any help/ideas would be very much appreciated!

You still need to have an RBU setup. The Retrospect manual has details on what group memberships are required for the RBU.
