Retrospect does not span all 8 tapes in Sony Storstation LIB-D81

I am using Retrospect 5.1 on OS 9.2 G4 incrementally backing up an Xserver G5 w/XRAID with a Sony Storstation LIB-D81 which runs eight 8mm AIT-3 tapes in the robotic library attached to the OS 9.2 G4. Retrospect 5.1 backs up the OSX server just fine, but Retrospect only backs up to 4 of the 8 AIT tapes in the library. How do I get it to backup or to tapes 5 through 8? It sees the tapes when it does a scan of the media. As the tapes fill with data, Retrospect asks for a new tape and eventually only asks for Tapes 1 through 4 to be replaced, not tapes 5 through 8. What is the answer to this? Do I need an update for my Retrospect 5.1 software?

What happens if you manually move a tape from slot 5 into the tape drive and tell Retrospect to use it?

So put tape 5 into say slot 4? But again you will have to manually point Retrospect 5.1 at that drive slot. So the question is how to make Retrospect to use slots 5 - 8 automatically?

Can you try booting the backup machine with base extensions + Retrospect?
