wjstarck
I have timeclock software installed that uses MS SQL server. The company's support documentation says I need to stop SQL server before backing up, obviously not a very viable solution. Can anyone point me to a script that I could use to stop and restart MS SQL server at a given time everyday so I can use Retrospect to backup these dbs? Any other ideas/suggestions appreciated... wjstarck
Sorry, I should mention that my version is Retrospect Server for Mac OS X, so I don't think there is an SQL Server Agent for that...
Mayoff
Retrospect for Mac can not backup an open MSSQL Database. Retrospect for Windows includes an SQL backup add-on
tax
I have a similar problem. I am planning to buy a new software application that runs on a mysql database. I know that i have to stop the mysql server, before the backup job starts. Dantz retrospect 7.0 for windows, comes with some scripts examples, try to see the one to close/stop Lotus Domino Server service.
