Have a client who is running all Win98SE machines. Fastest machine is a P3-800/ 256MB ram. Want to backup all the machines to a removable hard drive that is in this computer. What to swap the hard drives on a daily basis in case of disaster. Does restrospect actually allow one to restore the clients from the backups on removable drive WITHOUT having to install Win98SE FIRST on each client?

I can not find any pricing for any of the products including DISK to DISK nor a detailed description of what the latter actually does. I believe one requires disaster recovery license to perform the recovery on the clients without having to install a base O/S? Is this correct?

Hi

In order to restore a client machine you must first get a base install of Windows installed, set up basic networking and then install Retrospect client. If you get the Disastery Recovery option you can create a recovery CD that does all of this for you.

Disk to Disk is a good choice but does not include any client licenses. You would need to purchase client packs to match the number of clients you have.

Thanks

nate
